Metal-frame versions use welded steel with powder-coat finishes that resist chair-leg scuffing on tile and hardwood alike. Upholstered seats run commercial-grade high-density foam under Wood/Metal frame with foam upholstery chosen to tolerate grease, wine, and bleach-based cleaners without losing its finish over repeated cycles.
