Construction & Materials
Single Study Desk uses a laminate or wood-veneer work surface on a steel or panel-end base, edge-banded and moisture-sealed on every exposed edge to tolerate the daily use a dorm room desk sees over a four-year lifespan. Wall-mounted configurations use reinforced cleat systems rated for the weight of a laptop, monitor, and stacked textbooks; freestanding single and double desks use the same commercial-grade joinery as DMD's office desk line, scaled to a residence-hall footprint. Cable grommets and outlet cutouts are positioned to the room's actual electrical plan rather than a generic desk template. Laminate/MDF top; powder-coated steel frame finish matches the wardrobe and bed frame in the same room package.
Specification Notes
University housing departments specify Study Desks alongside the bed frame and wardrobe so a residence-hall room installs as one coordinated finish package rather than separately sourced pieces. DMD builds Single Study Desk to your room dimensions and footprint constraints, whether single, double, or wall-mounted, and stages production against your summer turnover and renovation schedule. Because dorm rooms reconfigure between academic years, we build to a durability standard beyond typical office furniture. Send your unit count, room dimensions, and finish standard and we will quote the full package.
