Lecture podium construction built for daily campus use
Metal Podium is built as freestanding millwork on a plywood or MDF substrate faced in laminate, wood veneer, or solid wood, with a sloped reading surface, internal shelving for notes and equipment, and a base wide enough to stay stable when a presenter leans on it. Smart podium configurations add reinforced cable routing and equipment cutouts engineered around your AV integrator's spec sheet rather than a generic opening. Edges and corners are finished to tolerate the bumps a podium takes moving between rooms. Powder-coated steel body; optional laminate shelf finish is matched to the lecture hall's millwork and casegood palette.

University facilities teams and campus planners specify Podium around the AV equipment it needs to house, so DMD coordinates Metal Podium cable routing, power access, and equipment cutouts with your integrator's drawings before production starts. We build fixed lecture-hall podiums and portable classroom versions from the same construction standard, finished to match the room's casegood palette. Because podiums move between spaces more than most classroom furniture, we reinforce base and caster hardware for that duty cycle.
