Medium Bookshelf units fail by sagging and racking long before the finish wears out, so DMD builds them with thicker substrates and tighter shelf spans than residential product. Carcasses are plywood or MDF in Laminated MDF/particleboard; optional steel shelf supports faces with edge-banded shelf fronts; fixed shelves are dadoed or mechanically fastened, and adjustable shelves run on commercial-grade pin systems rated for full book loads rather than decorative display weight. Tall units ship with anti-tip anchoring hardware as standard, because a loaded bookshelf weighs far more than it looks like it should.
