A Patio Sofa is built on a powder-coated aluminum frame or synthetic wicker weave over a corrosion-resistant core, with cushions in quick-dry foam under solution-dyed Powder-coated aluminum; outdoor foam; solution-dyed fabric that resists fading, mildew, and standing water. Seams and welts follow the design drawing the same way an indoor sofa would, but every material in the build is rated for direct weather exposure rather than borrowed from an indoor upholstery program not meant to live outside.

A Patio Sofa is specified around sun exposure, rain frequency, and storage plans for the off-season, since a patio sofa left exposed year-round needs a different material rating than one stored each winter. DMD recommends frame and fabric ratings to match your climate and can coordinate the outdoor silhouette with an indoor sofa already specified for the project.
